I’m still testing out the capabilities of the new GoPro Hero 3 and today have been putting its 120fps setting through its paces, which is useful for really nice smooth slow motion. Lots of people with the same camera have demo’d this on YouTube by bursting a balloon full of water, as you see, momentarily, the preserved shape of the balloon after the rubber has burst away, before the water begins to fall. So, I thought I’d give it a go in the same way…

… that, and it was a great excuse to drop lots of cold water over my wife during the Summer 2013 UK heatwave!

The first slow-mo section of the short video below was shot at 120 frames per second, and then slowed back down to the more normal 25 frames per second. I then show it slowed down by a further 25% which of course isn’t as smooth but lets you see the effect even more.
