My Article was featured on the front page!

HackSpace issue 9 is published today, and featured on the front page was my article showing how to build your very own wall-mounted social media follower counter, using a Raspberry Pi and some RGB LED screens. I devised an internal system to query each social network (eg. Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc.) and their individual APIs to retrieve the number of followers for your accounts.

Inspired by Flapit, this project was great fun to make and I can imagine small businesses making use of them to help track and incentivise the growth of their online influence – especially businesses where customers come onto the premises!

The magazine is available in all good newsagents or you can download the free PDF from the HackSpace website at https://hackspace.raspberrypi.org/issues/9

The project was subsequently featured on the official Raspberry Pi blog, as you can see from the Twitter screenshot above!
